(August 5th, 2002 - Phoenix, AZ) The Arizona Caliente proudly released their Fall 2002 Roster. A full roster is available for viewing at the team website at www.ArizonaCaliente.com.

Following their First Round of cuts from May of this year, the team has been running practices and holding private tryouts leading up to their exhibition scrimmage on Saturday August 3rd, 2002. With just over 100 women having tried out for the team this season, cutting down to the 54 spots was not an easy task for the coaching staff. A 44 active player game day roster will be set for each game, and the team will carry a 10-man reserve.

"We're fortunate that there are a lot of talented athletes in Arizona that have found a love for the game (football), but it does make the coaches job of cutting a tough one." Said Caliente Owner/General Manager, Jennifer Cada. "We have put together a team that will combine both an aggressive offense with a strong defense as our backbone, and are excited to have such a strong group of rookie players joining those returning."

"Our goal is a WAFC Championship," said Head Coach Gerry Turley. "It's as simple as that. We came very close last year, and we look forward to showing everyone that this year we are even more determined."

The Caliente know that this season will be a challenge on the field, but look forward to facing the Women's World Bowl Championship team the California Quake having split wins with the team during last season's play. Cada said that the 2 game road trip to Hawaii will be the real test, as the Hawaii Legends have never lost a game at home.
